Mapping to 3D

Almitee's 3D mapping feature offers an innovative way to visualize assets/spaces within a three-dimensional representation of your building. This functionality not only enhances the understanding of asset placement but also aids in pinpointing issues or assets in specific areas, particularly useful in conjunction with the helpdesk module.

Setting Up 3D Views

Initial Setup

  • To begin mapping assets/spaces in 3D, access the overview page and look for the 3D icon.

  • If your building or location doesn't yet have a 3D render, you'll need to upload a detailed floorplan for each site location. Almitee will use this floorplan to create a 3D render for you.

Providing Details for 3D Rendering

  • Ensure that the floorplan includes all necessary details required for an accurate 3D render. This might include dimensions, key landmarks, room numbers, and other relevant features.

  • Once you've submitted the floorplan, Almitee's team will process the information and generate a 3D render of your site.

Mapping Assets in 3D

Accessing the 3D Render

  • Once the 3D render is available, click on the 3D icon in the overview to load the rendering interface.

Mapping an Asset

  • Locate the asset you want to map in the assets list. Next to it, you'll find a position icon or similar option.

  • Click the position icon, which will allow you to interact with the 3D render.

  • Within the 3D view, click the specific location where the asset should be placed. This action maps the asset to that point in the 3D space.

  • Confirm the placement by clicking the save icon.

Mapping Spaces in 3D

Accessing the 3D Render

  • Once the 3D render is available, click on the 3D icon in the overview to load the rendering interface.

Mapping a Space

  • Locate the space you want to map in the space list. Next to it, you'll find a position icon or similar option.

  • Click the position icon, which will allow you to interact with the 3D render.

  • Within the 3D view, click the specific location where the space should be mapped. This action starts mapping the space to the render. Repeat this action until the whole space is mapped on the render.

  • Confirm the space on the render by the save icon.

Benefits and Use Cases

  • Enhanced Visualization: 3D mapping provides a comprehensive view of where assets/spaces are located within the structure, aiding in faster identification and access.

  • Issue Resolution: When integrated with the helpdesk, the 3D view can help quickly identify where reported issues are occurring within the building.

  • Asset Management: Improved tracking and management of assets, especially in complex or large-scale environments.

Conclusion

Utilizing the 3D mapping feature in Almitee can significantly enhance the way assets/spaces are managed and visualized within your organization. By integrating a detailed spatial perspective, you can achieve a deeper understanding and control over asset placement and issue resolution within your facilities.
